Which VPN location should you choose?
For everyday browsing, a nearby location is a sensible starting point. Distance can affect latency, but routing, network congestion, and the connection you are using also matter. A nearby city is not automatically the fastest option.
If your selected location will not connect, first check whether the network has internet access and whether your plan has data remaining. Pro users can compare another available location. Free users can test Lithuania on another network to help identify a Wi-Fi restriction.
Troubleshoot a connection that works on mobile data but not Wi-Fi.
What happens to your public IP?
Websites reached through the tunnel normally see your chosen VPN location’s exit IP. Selecting Lithuania routes that traffic through Teal’s Lithuania location; selecting Japan uses its Japan location.
Websites use different IP-location databases, which may disagree or update slowly. A VPN does not change GPS location, your billing country, or the identity of an account you sign into. It does not guarantee access to a particular streaming service.
Check the plan, then the connection
Teal Free includes Lithuania, 500 MB of data per account each day, and up to 2 devices. Pro includes all listed locations, unlimited data, and up to 3 devices. Available offers and prices appear in the app.
No VPN can promise to connect on every network. If a location is unavailable, contact Teal support with the app version, location name, and error message. Avoid sharing private keys or sign-in codes.
